OK, for my soon-to-be new Savage:

If you go to Odar's site --
http://user.tninet.se/~dqx955j/sida3.htm
& scroll to bottom, you'll see Hardtail Hal's red Savage. When he
sold it, I bought his struts 'cause I want to lower the rear end 4" &
install a spring solo seat -- which would make seat heighth still
lower than stock, but with a nice ride.

Only thing is, I've heard that hardtails can throw the bike sideways
if you hit a bump or pothole while cornering (dunno if it's true, but
makes sense).

So, I'm thinking about shortening the shocks & setting them at a
greater angle (w/a lowering kit) to get the slam, but still using a
spring solo. What I'm wondering is:
will it bottom out? If so, would it hurt the bike (worried about the
bike, not me, 'cause I'll be riding on springs)? Keep in mind that
the shocks will be shorter; but, they'll be at a greater angle, which
should restrict shock travel somewhat (I think). All I want is to
have barely enough rear suspension to keep the bike from being too
squirrely when cornering.
